NT Police-doctored tape found
According to Gary from NAP -- Network Against Prohibition the Hansard tape of the 'Parliament Invasion' action
has reappeared (Fri, 05 Dec 2003) after disappearing on Monday Mon, 1
Dec 2003.
- "Today at the darwin
Magistrate's Court, a court orderly who wishes to
remain anonymous, informed me that "they have found the missing
tape."
"Whether they have found the
original (H)ansard video, a copy of the
original, a doctored copy of the original, or a copy of the doctored
copy of the original, who knows????"
-----------------------
The tape has never
been accepted by the Defendents as original and unedited, due to the
clumsy editing attempts by NT Police at concealing assaults on
protesters.
A view clearly spelt out in the NT
Supreme Court in the Amended appeal
on the 24th of November.
3. The politicization of
the trial was evident. Particularly during the sentencing/press
conference finale. Political bias.
a) The Magistrate and Public Prosecutor seemed
bound by a need to exonerate Superintendent Bert Hofer, who I witnessed
assault a defenseless female in parliament.
b) I absolutely refute all of Magistrate Wallace's
comments to the assembled press (during sentencing) about this assault.
c) I will rely on the (Police doctored) video tape
and the transcript to demonstrate why.
d) The Court was used at times by the Prosecutor
to help Police gain evidence in matters unrelated to the alleged
offence for overtly political reasons.
e) Evidence was withheld and tampered with.

Only NT
Police-tampered evidence goes 'missing'
From NAP -- "The court
was told that the original Hansard tape had "gone missing somewhere
between the Supreme Court and the Magistrate's Court."
Police prosecutor
Peter John Thomas, speaking from the witness box said "...this is
embarrassing."
Court orderly
Jason Finlay, also speaking from the box said "I have been working here
for 2 years and evidence has never been lost before."

What
next?
Maybe this
latest NT Police-doctored version of the Hansard video will have a
caped Ema flying from one end of Parliament to the other, from a table
onto a Security Guard's back.
"The video also shows
that Ema DID NOT jump from a table onto the Security guard's back. A
distance of about 10 metres.
"However the
Court found Ema guilty on that basis."
"Faithfully
recorded by the NT ABC, who chose not to interview Ema."
"The court
heard Birkeland-Corro jumped on Aaron Wigmore's back from a table known
as the Repository of the Mace."
The Police Prosecutor in
this assault trial -- Police prosecutor Peter John Thomas -- (same
Prosecutor as in Parliament trial) -- was well aware that Ema did not
jump onto anyone's back from the table.
PJ had viewed the Parliament
tape on numerous occasions prior to railroading
Ema on a totally fictitious assault charge.
He also neglected to inform
the Court that Ema had already complained of assault -- prior to and by
-- her alleged victim (and the only 'witness' another Security Guard)
-- Complaints ignored by NT Police.
