"The items posted here describe the growing
disillusionment with the War on Drugs in the law
enforcement community, the growing support for reform, and some of the
ways in which the Drug War corrupts police forces and encourages a war
mentality that is at odds with a police officer's intended role as an
officer of the peace." |

Progressive Brixton
cop Paddick attracted controversy and huge local support (83%) for his
unorthodox solutions to tackling crime in one of the UK's toughest
areas.
When he made the unprecedented move of addressing some of his community
directly on our bulletin boards, he was rewarded with a rich,
intelligent and robust debate, earning the respect of many involved.
Sadly, this was all too much for some tabloid papers, who embarked on a
homophobic slur campaign that has now resulted in him being removed
from his post.
The Brixton community is now fighting for his return....
