N.T. Labor Gov't drug policy

(Unpublished)

During the recent election campain, Clare Martin made
repeated references to her style of government,
calling it "progressive" & "forward thinking". Yet the
whole "zero tolerence in the war on drugs" rhetoric is
straight out of Richard Nixons policy speaches for an
election campain in the 1970's.

Get real Clare, stop feeding us the sensationalist
propoganda being put outby your American overlords
Legalise & regulate all drugs to take back the control
from the black market.

Release all non- violent drug offenders from our
prisons, that's got to be a cheaper alternative than
building more prisons.
Redirect funding from the Drug Squad to a Traffic
Division, after all far more people die on our roads,
or are crippled & require ongoing medical treatment,
each year in the territory, than die from drug related
issues like overdose or murder.

Deal with substance abuse as a health issue rather
than a law & order issue. Who knows, you may just save
us all a lot of grief & tax wastage and gain a
reputation for being a truely "forward thinking &
progressive" government.
