Bali nine smuggler receives 2-month sentence cut

The Indonesian Government has finally approved a two-month cut to the 20-year sentence being served by Australian drug smuggler Renae Lawrence.

Lawrence should have received the sentence cut in August last year as part of Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations, but bureaucratic restrictions held up the process.

Lawrence is serving time for attempting to smuggle more than eight kilograms of heroin into Australia as part of the group dubbed the Bali nine.
