NAP’s smoke-in goes off

NAP notched up its 27th Smoke-in for Human Rights today, May 13, 2006, in Raintree Park, Darwin.

Today’s smoke-in commemorated the “Parliament Invasion” of May 14, 2002, when a group of Napatistas walked into the NT Parliament while it was sitting.

The invaders, as they were dubbed on the front page of next day’s paper, were protesting the “drug house” legislation that was about to be debated.
