Cannabis charges

POLICE swooped on the airport, stopping five people and 160 grams of cannabis bound for NT communities in two busts yesterday.

Darwin Drug and Dog unit members searched passengers on two flights.

A 38-year-old woman on a flight to Maningrida was allegedly found with 90 grams of cannabis and 31 grams of plant material.

The woman told police she was given the drugs in the terminal, leading to the arrest of a 40-year-old woman who was summonsed to appear in court.

Three women aged 52, 36 and 19, who were bound for Port Keats, were also issued with notices after detector dogs uncovered 74.7g of cannabis.
