Snatch from home
POLICE believe a home invasion inn Durack yesterday was drug related.
A 21-year-old Durack man was taken from his home by two men about midnight yesterday.
It is believed the men got in to the house and through the back door and threatened the victim.
He was bundled into a waiting vehicle and driven towards Palmerston.
Three other people asleep in the house at the time of the home invasion were woken by shouting.
Police were tipped off about the abduction and issued a description of the vehicle to patrols.
The vehicle was later found in Palmerston with the victim and two offenders inside.
It is believed the victim knew at least one of his abductors but the motivation for his abduction is not known.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Proctor of the Major Crime Squad said police investigations were continuing.
"The victim is shocked by the nature of the incident but hasn't received any serious physical injuries," he said. "He's suffered emotional distress."
Sen-Sgt Proctor said two people were in custody.
"There appears to be come (sic) connection between the victim and the offenders," he said.
"We don't know the extennt of that relationship yet but there could be a connection with drugs."
Sen-Sgt Proctor would not confirm if the victim was assisting police with their inquiries inn to the motives for the abduction.
"But he made a complaint to us," he said.
