Drugs, guns seized

A FOUR-wheel-drive towing a caravan to sell drugs in remote communities has been found with firearmms during a police seizure.

Maranboy police pulled over the South Australiann-registered Mitsubishi Pajero at Bullman community, in Arnhem Land, on Tuesday night after a tip-off and a subsequent search found 285g of cannabis.

Several implements for weighing and distribution, more than 700 clip-seal bags and several of unregistered firearms also were found.

Police from the Katherine Investigations Unit and the Territory Response Section found 250g of cannabis during further searches yesterday.

Two 17-year-olds and a 57-year-old man from the Bulman region were questioned by police. The older man was later charged for possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis, supplying a dangerous drug and firearms offences.
