Stuart stands his ground

Stuart Highway is currently in the punishment cells and is staying there until his release. He has now been unable to contact NAPNT by telephone for four full days.

As a result of being in the punishment cells, he can only have half hour visits once a week.

Friends visiting this Sunday- 25th Dec and all subsequent visits will have to see Stuart through a glass screen and talk with him via the one phone provided.

Call the Support Stuart crew on 0416227553 if you want to visit and they will phone the prison and put your name down. Please don't ring after 10PM much appreciated. Alternatively, you can email supportingstuart (at) gmail.com

In other developments... there has been some more graffiti here and a copy of Stuart's internal prison appeal over the piss-test incident has been uploaded to his blog here. This letter from Stuart to NT Administrator Ted Egan AO has also been uploaded to his blog.

NAPNT members are extremely concerned for Stuart’s welfare, please ring the Darwin Correctional Centre on (08) 8922 0111 (+61 8 8922 0111 from outside Australia) and demand that Stuart’s human rights are being respected. Please write to Stuart and let him know that he (and the other prisoners) has support on the outside.
