Prison business

Congratulations on “Jail not only answer” (TST, September 25).

Jail is not the only option and problematic drug users are health problems not criminals.

Prisons are big business, from building of them to the employemt they create.

Illicit drug users are easy targets. Jailing them is perfect for governments sucking up to big businesses such as those that build prisons.

The war on drugs is unjustifiable and barbaric and until we realise this sad fact, we are going nowhere fast.
