Drug arrests in traffic blitz

DRUGS were netted in two separate incidents during Katherine's road blitz.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at a random breath testing station after a strong odour was smelt and a search found 45g of marijuana. Several hours later, a passenger fled from a stopped vehicle at an RBT. Police chased and caught the 20-year-old man.

He has been charged with possession of a traffickable quantity of ecstasy and attempted escape. Both have been bailed to appear in Katherine court.
