Raid nets cannabis

CANNABIS estimated to be worth $17,000 and a vehicle valued at $30,000 were seized on Wednesday in a raid targeting drug movements to remote localities.

It is alleged a 30-year-old Karama man had more than 280 deal bags of cannabis and two larger bags hidden inside grocery items.

Police have charged the man with six separate counts of supplying cannabis, supplying a traffickable amount of cannabis and possessing tainted property.

The four-wheel-drive was seized under the Criminal Property Forfeiture Act. He will appear in court on September 29.
