The Network Against Prohibition (NAP) is a group dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and human rights of illicit drug users around the globe as well as the rights of those living in communities in developing countries who rely on opium, coca, cannabis etc for their survival! NAP originally formed in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, however, an expansion is underway.

Why the SyringeFest?


The SyringeFest:


*Highlights the human rights abuses faced by injecting drug users in the Territory and beyond on a daily basis;


*Increases community awareness on issues around blood borne viruses and needle and syringe programs;


*Increases community awareness of the impact of prohibition on the health and wellbeing of drug users;


*Allows for the celebration of drug culture; and


*Enables people to get involved in the struggle to end the “War on Drugs” on a number of different levels.
