Time to paint

Public servant Ann Hanning hasn't let the past eight months make her bitter. The Justice Department employee was stood down from her job in December after being falsely convicted of supplying cannabis to a remote community. The conviction was overturned at an appeal this month. She says she has used the time to focus on her painting and her Applied Science degree. "When I got the job at Justice I had to start the degree," she said. "It has been a really hard year. But I've used it to keep on with that and concentrate on my painting." Ms Hanning, who is waiting to find out when she can go back to work, is in her second year of indigenous community management and development.
