Charged over spree

A 32-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing $2400 in cash from his employer to buy drugs and alcohol.

Casuarina detectives charged the man last Friday with forging stolen blank cheques taken from his employer. Police allege he also stole two motor vehicles from separate car dealerships, selling one for $2500 and using the other to commit a spate of offences. It is also alleged he used a stolen credit card to buy $1100 worth of clothing and goods around Darwin.

The man was remanded in custody last Friday and appeared in court yesterday to face charges of aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, five counts of criminal deception, four counts of stealing and forgery and attempted criminal deception.
