Teen arrested with 65 kgs of kava
Almost 65 kilograms of kava has been seized in Darwin over the weekend.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy at Darwin Airport with several suitcases containing the kava.
Police say the kava was packaged into deal bags and allegedly destined for a coastal Territory community.
It had an estimated value of more than $32,000.
The teenager has been charged with possession and supply of a commercial quantity of kava and is due to appear in court tomorrow.
