Support for prisoners

FAMILY Outside would like to point out to the anonymous writer (Letters, May 3) who wants to swap Schapelle Corby for McLean and Trin, families of inmates can choose their friends but not their relatives.

Family Outside still loves the inmate-criminal-prisoner. The acts they have or have not committed often shock their family but, as parents know, you love your children no matter what they do.

Family Outside does not condone illegal acts. We have to learn to live with them and forgive them.

Family Outside supports prisoner transfers on rehabilitation and welfare grounds and we support prisoners being incarcerated where their family outside can visit them.

Family Outside supports a treaty for prisoner exchange between Australia and Indonesia.
