Kava arrest

A teenager has been arrested with 60kg of kava, with a street-value of $30,000, at Darwin airport.

Police arrested the 17-year-old when he arrived from Brisbane at the weekend with suitcases filled with kava.

It is believed the kava was destined for a coastal area.
The teenager was charged with possession of a commercial quantity of kava and faces court today.
