Drug prohibition: the real culprit in Corby case

Supporters of Schapelle Corby should direct their anger at the Australian Government's continued support for US-led global drug prohibition.

That’s the message from the Network Against Prohibition, a Darwin-based drug law-reform group.

NAP spokesperson Stuart Highway said: “Drug prohibition is the real culprit in this case.”

“As long as there is support for drug prohibition in Australia, we do not have the right to condemn the Indonesian Government.”

“If she’d been convicted for the same thing in America, it would be even worse… she would have got an even heavier sentence. There are 1.2 million people in jail in the land of the free for cannabis offences.”
