Alleged thief fails drug tests

A man co-offender in a $400,000 jewel robbery at Stuart Park in February lost his bail yesterday after failing drug tests.

Shane Vicary, 32, appeared in custody before Darwin Magistrates Court on charges of entering and stealing, criminal damage and trespassing.

Magistrate Vince Luppino adjourned the case to April 29 for a possible hand-up committal, remanding Vicary in custody.

Prosecutor John Duguid said Vicary was granted drug court bail after the February 19 offence and had been on the Salvation Army rehabilitation program.

Three urine tests in the past three weeks had all been positive, so Vicary had been taken into custody for breaching bail.

He was now not eligible for the Salvation Army program.

As a result, Vicary was excluded from the drug court "credit" program but would appear formally before that court, also on April 29.

I would love to find out more info on this case.
I knew this person years ago and I am wondering if I could help him overcome his addictions at all.

Any information would be grateful.
