Retraction and apology

An article was published on page 7 of yesterday's Northern Territory News headlined "Darwin drug offender home in days".

The article alleged Phillip Douglas Primmer was a co-accused with Christopher Curral, who has been jailed for drug offences in Bali.

This allegation was wrong.

Mr Primmer has at no time ever been a "co-accused" in relation to any criminal proceedings against Mr Currall.

Mr Primmer has never had any dealings at all with Mr Currall.

The allegations made against Mr Primmer, which were the subject of a recent Supreme Court trial, had nothing to do with Mr Currall and nothing to do with any importation of ephidrine from Bali to Darwin.

The charge in respect of which Mr Primmer was acquitted last Friday was the only drug-related charge that has ever been brought against him.

The Northern Territory News unreservedly apologises to Mr Primmer for the inaccurate information published about him.
