Welcome to our ever improving website
It has been a while since we let you know what updates we have made to napnt.org so here goes.
We have added even more links to our links page, making this one of the most extensive collections of drug policy links on the net.
We have revamped our articles index to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. Each article now has a description and we have removed the article numbers from the page because this was getting a little confusing. What you have now is all of the articles written by NAP members and supporters in date order. We’ve also linked to some articles that had gone missing in cyberspace so check out the index and have a read.
Our events page has also been updated and we now list the dates of all NAP meetings for 2005, so if you are in Darwin, come along and find out how you can get involved. We still have heaps of court cases this year including an appeal to the full bench of the NT Supreme Court and 3 trials with a judge and jury. Please keep an eye on our events calendar so that you can come and support us at court when it is necessary.
NAP members will be travelling to Sydney for the Queeruption Conference next week and Melbourne for the Anarcon 2005 Conference the week after that. It is not to late to join the NAP contingents. Contact us if you are interested in joining us.
Our search facility is up and running again although there are still some gremlins with the results page. We will get this fixed ASAP. In the meantime you can still use the search facility to search napnt.org or the entire web.
The NAP crew continue to keep the NT Drug News Vault up to date with current stories as well as archiving drug news stories from over the past few years. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to our ‘newshawking’ efforts here and we hope this archive will prove useful to someone other than ourselves.
Since we spoke to you last time we have had some press coverage with the NT News regurgitating our media release on Rob’s appeal victory.
We are in the process of setting up three new campaign areas on the site to cover the ‘drug house’ legislation, the sniffer dogs and the recent changes around the schedule 8 drug issue (morphine etc). As part of this process we have set up some test pages and we will be uploading text over the next week or so. We would appreciate your feedback on the development of these new campaign pages as they go online.
Those of you who view the site with Internet Explorer have probably noticed that we have fixed the layout problem we have had over the past few months. The site is still best viewed in Mozilla Firefox but at least it looks like it is supposed to in IE now.
We have added an advertisement for our napnt yahoogroup on most of our main pages and this is part of our drive to increase the number of people that are members of the group. If you are not a member of our yahoogroup yet, click here to join. You will then receive our napnt digest newsletter once or twice per month and you will be the first to know if we have any emergencies such as the false arrest and imprisonment last November.
Last but definitely not least, we have got an account with Paymate which enables anyone with a credit card to make a secure donation to us over the internet. We are always asking for donations but unfortunately people don’t realise that we really do struggle to maintain the operations. Even if you can only donate one or two dollars on a fortnightly basis, it is of immense assistance. Click here to find out how you can make a donation to NAP or support us in other ways.
Remember, if you are in Darwin, you can contact us and arrange to access our library or talk to someone for some informal support and maybe a referral somewhere. We are always keen for more people to get involved with the struggle for full human rights for Northern Territory drug users and we look forward to meeting you in 2005.
If you find any broken links or if you have any feedback about the site please email us.
If you are a webmaster and you don't link to us yet, feel free to do so!
