Theft rampage

A 14-year-old boy caught shoplifting hours after being granted bail on burglary charges has been accepted into the drug court program.

Magistrate Jennly Blokland was told that the boy was undertaking a juvenile rehabilitation program.

She adjourned his case to March 4 for a further progress report.

Police said after catching the boy in November last year they believed he had stolen goods worth $26,000 from homes at Nightcliff, Rapid Creek and Alawa between July and October.
