NT nets millions under proceeds of crime law
The Northern Territory Government says it has seized more than $2.5 million under Criminal Property Forfeiture Legislation.
The law was introduced 18 months ago and gives police the power to freeze assets believed to be the proceeds of crime or used in criminal activity.
The Government says 56 forfeiture orders amounting to more than $340,000 have been granted.
Another 54 restraining orders are in place covering $1.6 million of goods.
This includes cars and cash worth $50,000 collected in the past three months.
