New cop shop nears

The new $2 million police and fire station at Humpty Doo is on track to be opened next month.

Acting Police, Fire and Emergency Services Minister John Ah Kit said it was 95 per cent finished.

He said landscaping was about to begin and bitumen was ready to be laid.

"We are now just weeks away from police and fire officers being based in the heart of the rural area for the first time," he said.
