Kava licence approved for Croker Is outlet

Northern Territory Minister for Licensing Syd Stirling has approved a retail outlet for the legal sale of the controlled substance kava on Croker Island, off the Arnhem Land coast.

Kava can only be legally sold within a few specified licence areas in Arnhem Land as part of the Government's attempts to curb selling on the black market.

Applications for the retail license covering the island and surrounding seas will close towards the end of next month.
