Flying cannabis seller jailed

A man who sold cannabis at a remote Territory community has been sentenced to nine months' jail.

Fransisco Goncalves, 22, must serve only 28 days.

He sold the cannabis at Maningrida inn Arnhem Land for twice what it would fetch in Darwin.

Goncalves pleaded guilty to three counts of supplying cannabis and one each of possessing cannabis and receiving $750 from the sale of cannabis.

The Supreme Court heard he flew to Maningrida in February last year with 32g of cannabis and stayed at a friend's home.

A person Goncalves knew asked if he could buy some cannabis and Goncalves supplied half an ounce for $350.
