Police chase down grog runners

Papunya police have intercepted three cars in the space of two hours taking alcohol into Kintore near the Northern Territory-Western Australian border.

They have seized more than 30 casks of port and charged at least five people with possessing alcohol in a restricted area.

In the last of the interceptions, the driver of a white four-wheel-drive refused to pull over.

The officers pursuing the car saw a cask being thrown from the back window.

Police say the vehicle and fifteen casks of port were seized and the alleged offenders have been summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
