Darwin drug law reform campaigners in court this week

The 5 Network Against Prohibition parliament invaders will be in the Darwin NT Supreme Court from 10am before Justice Bailey in Court 4 to appeal against their conviction for disrupting the NT Legislative Assembly during a protest against the drug house laws on the 14th of May last year.

The five face between 14 and 21 months jail, suspended after serving actual sentences of 4 or 5 months. We need your support and hope that we will be able to come along to the NT Supreme Court on Monday and Tuesday for this important event.

And it doesn't stop there!!! On Wednesday, Robert Inder-Smith, Stuart Highway and Gary Meyerhoff will appeal their conviction for the peaceful occupation of the NT Chief Health Officer's office last year in protest against the ill-treatment of opiate dependent people.

Thursday at 2pm, Nicolette Burrow's conviction for contempt of court in October 2002 will be heard in the NT Supreme Court,

And on Friday...... Robert Inder-Smith will be in the Darwin Magistrate's Court charged with disorderly behaviour after the 6th smoke-in last year.

Then, from the 1st to the 5th of December, the illusive - extradited from Tasmania - parliament invader Scott White will continue his committal hearing in the Magistrate's court for the parliament invasion.

NAP spokesperson Gary Meyerhoff said " the campaign against the draconian drug house laws in the Northern Territory will continue despite the facist approach to peaceful activism taken by the Northern Territory Government."
