NAPNT in the Media

The Network Against Prohibition (NAP) is a group dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and human rights of illicit drug users around the globe as well as the rights of those living in communities in developing countries who rely on opium, coca, cannabis etc for their survival! NAP originally formed in Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, however, an expansion is underway.

No favour plea made

A leader of a group which invaded the Territory Parliament in Darwin a year ago told a magistrate yesterday he did not want to be treated any differently to his co-defendants.

Magistrate Dick Wallace had been told that leading light in the Network Against Prohibition (NAP) group Gary Meyerhoff had a terminal illness.

Mr Wallace, presiding over the hearing for five of the group who pleaded non guilty to disturbing Parliament on May 14, 2002, is due to sentence the five tomorrow.

He invited Meyerhoff to submit a medical report on the progress of his disease.

In relation to his condition, Meyerhoff told Mr Wallace yesterday: “I don’t want to be treated differently.”
