Magistrate dismisses court bias claims

A man extradited from Tasmania who applied to have a magistrate dismissed claiming he was biased, has had the application thrown out in the Darwin Magistrates Court.

Scott Richard White is charged with disturbing the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly after Network Against Prohibition members stormed the Territory Parliament in May last year.

Today, magistrate David Loadman dismissed the application and ordered two protestors be removed from court after they yelled expletives and accused him of being a liar.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Loraine Braham, and the MLA John Elferink are waiting to be called before the court to give evidence.
