No argument from Opposition

Opposition leader Denis Burke said last night he had no argument with Mr Ah Kit's statement.

"However, with his solutions, he appears to have committed Territorians to a high-spending agenda which needs to be carefully thought through," he said.

"He has yet to demonstrate satisfactorily that community councils have failed in the way he suggests and that a federated structure would further advance the interests of traditional remote communities, or just add another bureaucratic layer."
